Xantrax Confused With Xenical

These weight loss remedies however are usually a waste of effort...

The controversy surrounding the promotion of weight loss medications and supplements in Australia continues unabated especially as weight loss supplements that are deemed to be natural but have no proven clinical effectiveness are allowed to be advertised freely, whereas medication that has been clinically proven to work but contains chemical compounds must not be advertised despite not being a prescription drug.

Xantrax Confused With Xenical

For example in Australia a particular herbal tea called Xantrax was being freely advertised as a weight loss appetite suppressant until very recently when a Federal health committee said that the adverts were misleading and therefore the claim that the tea could promote weight loss must be stopped. At the same time the weight loss drug Xenical which is available in Australia without a prescription is not allowed to be advertised following a vast amount of complaints from the general public, that it was being promoted to people who were not at all obese or were too young and did not really need weight loss medication.

In America and in Australia there are advertisements all the time for weight loss supplements which do not need to be tested by the relevant health authorities because they only contain natural herbs and therefore do not fall under the category for prescription drugs. These weight loss remedies however are usually a waste of effort as they have no proven clinical effectiveness and are often misleading in their claims.

At Ukmedix News we have seen recently a much larger increase in the numbers of so called natural teas and supplements on the market that appear to be natural, but in fact are full of western prescription medicine. We have also noted that many of these so called natural products use names which are almost identical to the names of prescription medications and there is no doubt that the Xantrax medication was named to confuse people with the weight loss medication Xenical that it made by the drug company Roche. Xenical is one of the best selling prescription weight loss medications in the world.
