As from Friday the over the counter weight loss drug Alli is officially for sale in American pharmacists. This is a bit of medical history in that the Alli drug that is made with the compound orlistat becomes the first over the counter diet medication to have been OK'ed for sale by the notoriously strict Food and Drug Administration of America.

At the moment there is a lot of hype in America about this new diet drug and pharmacists say that they are expecting sales to be extremely good immediately. In fact the orlistat compound has been on sale in America for many years already except that previously it was a prescription only drug of a higher dose. The only thing which is different about the Alli weight loss drug when compared to the Xenical is that the dose is lower and you don’t need a prescription.
GlaxoSmithKline who have been given the rights to market and sell the Alli weight loss drug from Roche have been very conscientious about informing dieters about exactly what this diet drug will do and how it works, nevertheless people who have been trying to shed pounds will still look at Alli as an easy way to shed the pounds without getting a prescription.
At Ukmedix News we have received hundreds of positive reviews about the use of the Xenical weight loss drug and because it is so popular, it really shows that it does work. Our only concern with Alli at Ukmedix News is that by giving people access to a weight loss medication that is so easy to buy is likely to open the door to abuse. In Australia where the Xenical drug does not require a prescription an independent survey found that hundreds of people were getting regular prescriptions for the medication even though they were not overweight or obese.
The most important thing to remember with Xenical or Alli is that you must consume a low fat diet with it. If you think that the orlistat drug will do all the work for you, you are very much mistaken.
