Despite the FDA giving the go ahead for the lower dose version of Xenical in the United States don’t expect a revolution when it come to weight loss in America. The country is so deeply into its obesity problem that a simple over the counter weight loss drug is not going to suddenly work wonders and miracles for the country.

Alli as the new drug is known is a simple half dose version of Xenical and is not designed to be used by people who continue to eat a fatty diet. Those people who do use Xenical or Alli and still eat say chips and a hamburger will soon find out why when they have very unpleasant bowel movements and stomach cramps.
Millions of dollars a year is spent by the federal government on weight loss initiatives for the American people and despite this very little seems to be happening band America continues to get fatter. The drugs Reductil and Xenical while they have been very effective with committed individuals have yet to make an overall impression on the numbers of obese people in America or in fact in any country.
Weight loss drugs are still for people who are committed to losing weight and who just use the drugs as an extra helping hand. Research shows that people who use weight loss drugs on a regular basis and whose diet patterns are of a YoYo type are likely to put back on all the weight that they lose when they stop using them.
When you use weight loss drugs do not look for the quick fix because you won’t get it. You will lose weight, but unless you commit yourself to long term healthy eating you will just have temporary weight loss and you will be resigning yourself to a constant state of flux and jumping on and off the weighing scales.
