The advertisements for Alli must be educational and informative...

The big day in the United States of America for the new diet drug called Alli (which is a half dose version of the weight loss medication Xenical) is June 15th 2007. On that date the drug will be officially launched in pharmacies all over America. GlaxoSmithKline has not given out the pricing structure for the new diet medication but did say that they will be selling all the capsules of Alli with a calorie counting booklet and a daily notebook so that you can keep note of what you are eating. GlaxoSmithKline have also been busy making TV advertisements as part of the 100 million dollar advertising campaign for what is the first and only FDA licensed and approved over the counter weight loss medication.

GlaxoSmithKline were warned by the FDA that they must be very careful with the tone of their advertisements and they must not promise easy and instant weight loss. The advertisements they said must be educational and informative. In Australia where the full dose version of Xenical was advertised on television there were hundreds of complaints as the public and health professionals felt that the advertising was promising far more than the weight loss drug could deliver.

At Ukmedix News while we think that Xenical is an extremely effective medication we also know that it works better when it is prescribed by a doctor as the secret with this weight loss drug is proper and careful use. We have seen many instances of people trying to use this novel diet medication without understanding properly how it works and how it can be put to beneficial use. People who abuse the Xenical drug often end up negatively experiencing the side effects of the medication which include diarrhea, stomach cramps and nausea.

The half dose version of the Xenical, Alli is not available for sale in the United Kingdom.
