Those people who lose weight with Xenical are the ones who get good advice...

At Ukmedix News we reported last month that the weight loss drug orlistat has been given the full approval for sale as an over the counter drug in America. This means that in America if you would like to get your hands on the Xenical drug you no longer need a prescription. The new approval in fact is not really for Xenical but for the half dose version of it called Alli. The idea is that as it is now not so strong, it is safer for use and therefore can be sold over the counter and without a prescription.

The big news in the weight loss world is that it is likely that Alli will be approved for sale as an over the counter medication in the UK sometime next year. This news has been getting mixed reactions from health professionals and doctors all over the UK. Some say that giving easy access to weight loss medications can really helping lowering the numbers of overweight or obese people in the UK and the other argument is that easy access to any medication is always a bad idea.

At Ukmedix News we have seen plenty of research on the use of Xenical and we know the simple fact is that people who abuse Xenical [or Alli] do not lose weight in the long run and therefore the drug has very little effect on them. Quite simply if you continue to eat a high-fat diet and take Xenical you will suffer from unpleasant side effects like diarrhoea and stomach cramps which will mean that you are less probable to use the medicine over a long period of time.

Without a doubt the people who lose weight successfully with Xenical are the ones who get good advice and help about using it and those people who do not understand how the medicine works and how it should be used are the ones who do not lose weight with it. The company who have the licence to sell the weight loss drug Alli namely GlaxoSmithKline have said that they will initiate a campaign to educate pharmacists in the UK about how to use Xenical, however we have seen reports coming from Australia where the use of over the counter Xenical is being abused and that many people who shouldn't really be using it are now easily getting it from pharmacists who are not as thorough and concise in giving advice as doctors are.
