Alli Is Being Abused In US

At Ukmedix News we felt that when the orlistat weight loss drug was launched in the United States in a half dose version called Alli (as opposed to the prescription version which is Xenical), that there would be people who would be abusing the drug and not using it as it is meant to be taken. It appears that what we said is becoming a reality.

Many weight loss experts have said that the Alli drug is being used by people who have eating disorders such as bulimia and anorexia and the weight loss drug will just further aggravate their conditions. Xenical is a prescription medication and thus if a person who was obviously anorexic tried to get some the doctor would be able to prevent them getting their hands on it by not issuing a prescription and also possibly give them some healthy eating advice will get them into hospital.
The problem with making Alli an over the counter medicine is that pharmacists do not possess the same level of authority as doctors do and thus it is much easier for people to get possession of it. The only difference of Xenical and Alli is that the former is double strength.
The Food & Drug Administration in America has officially approved the Alli drug and this means that many people therefore think it is 100% safe, but like all medications it must be taken properly and with great care. The Xenical drug is an extremely effective weight loss drug however it will not do all of the work for you to lose weight and you will still have to start on to a reduced fat diet and watch your calories.
Weight loss drugs work the best when they are used properly. People who abuse Xenical end up getting sick, having diarrhea and stomach cramps and looking very unhealthy.
