There are some simple things you can do to keep yourself on track

With the Christmas season coming up the Ukmedix News team felt that we needed to give you some tips on how to avoid over eating and thus putting on weight. There are some simple things you can do to keep yourself on track while at the same time enjoying your food and yourself.

Xmas Dieting Tips

The first thing to remember is that just because it is the Christmas season does not mean that you should stop going to the gym. If anything you should make an extra effort to do your regular work out so that you can burn off the extra calories that you are likely to eat. If you really don’t feel like going to the gym because you are in holiday mode try at least to get down there and jump in the sauna and go for a swim. The chances are that once you’ve made it to the gym you may do a little run on a treadmill.

It is often difficult to get to the gym over the Christmas period because you may be going away but most hotels these days have gyms and if you’re staying with friends you can either use their gyms or encourage everybody to go for a long walk after lunch. Some people skip breakfast in anticipation of a big lunch and this is a big mistake. You are far more likely to over eat at lunchtime if you have not had breakfast than if you have. Try to go for a healthy fibre rich breakfast to keep hunger pangs away which lead you to tempting snacks.

Eat slowly! Make conversation when you are eating and take small mouthfuls. This simple tip has been shown time and time again to make people eat less calories over a meal. Christmas is not just about food but about companionship and friendship and you should make an effort to talk more so that you eat less!

And finally make sure that you need all the healthy food on your plate like vegetables and lean protein first. (Turkey is very low in fat!)

Yea!! Breakfast is important to keep a good diet but I being doing something else in the mornings “ drink water” I know it sounds crazy and stupid but since I started it I lost a lot of weight, even more than when I used to try other diets!. When you drink water in the morning you are cleaning your system making your digestion process faster and better.
