An extensive survey done by the promoters of the Atkins diet shows that many women are constantly focused on the way they look and what they eat and are much less focused on their relationships and the men in their lives.

Ten percent of the women interviewed said that they felt guiltier about straying away from their diet than they did about being unfaithful in a relationship. In fact 25 percent of the women said that dieting was more important than their relationship with their boyfriend or husband and therefore they put less effort and time into looking after them.
Almost 40 percent of the women said that food and dieting was on their mind much more than their partners and more than 50% said that they thought more about food than they did about sex.
The survey also looked into what motivated women to try and lose weight and getting a perfect beach body was the number one reason to go on a diet. It is estimated that around 75 percent of UK women have attempted to lose weight at some point in their lives.
Around fifteen percent of women said that they were first motivated to lose weight after they were insulted and ridiculed about being overweight. A lot of successful dieters talk about that moment in their life when they realized that they could not carry on ignoring the issue of being overweight and that something had to be done, and unfortunately unkind comments sometimes provide that catalyst to take the first step.
People who look after their weight sensibly and don't become obsessed with the weight loss are actually more likely to eat healthily and to enjoy eating. You do not want to get to a situation where what you eat is more important than the people in your life!
Moderation and common sense will make you much happier and healthier than an obsessive diet full of boring detail.
