It’s the beginning of the year and many people are on diets and new weight loss plans. We thought a few articles to make sure that you are following sensible guidelines would be a good idea. Firstly now is the time of the year when fad diets and unrealistic diet plans are promoted most heavily, so watch out and, make sure that your diet makes sense and doesn’t fail the common sense test.
Keep drinking lots of water. It will keep your body free of harmful toxins, which may have built up during the festive season.
Make sure you get a regular dose of protein, and carbs and all food types (even a little fat) to keep your diet balanced. If you are exercising it is especially essential that you have protein to build up muscle that in turn increases your metabolic burning rate. Don’t forget fruit and veg. They have all the vitamins that you require and the more of these you eat the less you will substitute your food intake with other unhealthy foodstuffs.
Keep a regular diet and limit your calorie intake. Try to eat three meals a day and some fruit snacks if you get hungry between meals.
Believe it or not sleep is very important to get a regular and healthy metabolism so try to get the full 8 hours. Exercise is very important as it will give you a big boost when compared to diet alone. Try drinking green tea. It can stimulate your digestive system and stop you from unhealthy snacking.
Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown by numerous surveys to be essential to a healthy heart so don’t leave these out. Oily fish like salmon and tuna is the best source of these. Don’t starve yourself. This only works over the short term and will in the long run make you develop unhealthy eating patterns that will be difficult to stop.
Use your head, keep it simple and you’ll feel better, healthier and you’ll lose weight too. Good Luck!
