The Plan To Weigh All Children Opposed

The debate about whether the plan to weigh all school children previously reported by Ukmedix, is a good one is definitely heating up with some food experts saying that the weighing will undermine the children's confidence and make it more problematic for them to have the will to diet. The plan has been called damaging and short sighted.
The issue of childhood obesity is a very sensitive and a very personal one as it involves not only the children but their parents too. Often the parents think that they are being blamed for the weight gain in their children and they feel guiltly about it and the children are teased at school and feel uncomfortable looking so different from the rest of their class mates. The objection to the weighing of the kids is that it will create an opportunity for the overweight children to be bullied and will show up their differences to normal kids.
Proponents of the idea say that it is important to get some idea of the statistics involved and the location of the most obese children in order to fight it properly and be in a position to move effectively against the obesity epidemic that is booming in the UK. They also say that this is a problem that really must be tackled and that by pretending it doesn't exist to safeguard the feelings of the children will only cause them more harm in the long term and will open them up to high risk categories for a whole host of illnesses and health problems.
There are many different reasons for obesity in children ranging from lack of exercise, very strict parents and even proximity to fast food stores. The statistics will be designed to get a clearer understanding of what actually is the main drive behind the rise in obesity rates all over the UK. Many blame the advertising of junk food and the fact that busy mothers no longer have time to cook proper and nutritious meals for their children anymore.
Junk food manufacturers have also come under fire for using advertising tactics that get straight to the children without their parents being aware of them. Methods they use include internet adverts, adverts in computer games and in mobile phones and also using popular cartoon images and characters alongside their food products. Some people say that this sort of advertising should be stopped along with the newest idea from some food manufacturers of sponsoring playgrounds and other child establishments.
