Weight Loss Preaching Is For The Closed Minded

some sort of gospel that cannot be contradicted!

Why is it that many people who talk about weight loss and diet preach in patronising tones as if they know everything and reckon that for healthy eating only their way works? You know what we are on about!

weight loss preaching is for the closed minded

Reading nutritional information on the internet regarding weight loss and dieting tends to fall into different categories with everybody proclaiming their wisdom as if it is some sort of gospel that cannot be contradicted! For example people who say that they lost weight following a reduced carb diet seem to think that people who lost weight on a low fat diet are not as informed as they are.

The same goes for exercise. There are fitness trainers who say that the only way to lose weight in a gym is to do aerobic exercise and to avoid the strength building exercises and there are others who say the complete opposite.

At Ukmedix News the way we see it is with an open mind! If you are not prepared to look at weight loss, dieting and exercise with an open mind and if you don't leave your brain open to new ideas nobody's really going to take your advice very seriously. Nutritionists need to understand that each and every one of us is different. If an individual makes it clear that he doesn't feel well without carbohydrates then that person should not be on a low carb diet.

The same goes for exercise; if you can't stand running on a treadmill but you prefer getting out of breath lifting weights and doing circuit training round the gym then do that.  As long as you burn the calories it doesn't really matter how you do it!

The essential thing is that you do something constructive which works for you in the long term. At the same time you must also realise that a certain degree of effort is required from you too but there is no point making it harder than it has to be and you should experiment until you find a lifestyle which is sustainable and practical.
