Practical Weight Loss Advice

The problem of weight loss that we see at Ukmedix alot of the time is not that individual diets don’t work it is the problem that so many of them are ridiculously pendantic in the way that they have so many points and do’s and don't's that the average person who doesn’t have a cook and a personal shopper gets disorientated and the sheer effort of dieting let alone the hunger pangs becomes just too much for them to cope with. Many people feel that the idea of weighing food and counting calories by looking at the small print on packaging or by consulting lengthy calorie counter books is just not a realistic or practical way to live.
The majority of people want clear and realistic dieting tips and here are some that are tried and tested and don’t require weighing scales any extra time and are perfect for keeping off the pounds. Buy lots of apples, oranges and other fruit so that you always have something handy for when you feel like a snack. Fruit is good for your health, low in fat and calories. Some people prefer to munch on a carrot or a celery stick when they get hungry so get something that you like that is a fruit or vegetable.
Try to make a big deal about your meals. Think carefully about what you eat everyday and make a mental record (or even write down) what you eat everyday and so you can get a good snapshot of whether you ate too much or not in a day.
Eating out is often a problem. It is so difficult not to overeat in a restaurant because not only is the food likely to be very good but the portions tend to be larger, (up 60% larger according to one survey). One clever idea is to order from the kid’s menu or just have starter sized portions. There is no harm in telling the chef to cut out the chips and go for a salad instead but don’t wait until the food is in front of you because the chances are that you will eat it all.
Don’t drink cans of fizzy drinks! They are full of calories and even if they are the diet version they are just unhealthy so stick to water and pure juices if you need a boost. Make sure the juices are not the sweetened ones that have lots of extra calories and fat. Drinking bottles of water is not going to make you shed weight but it might help you to feel better and will keep your digestive system in good shape.
Try to eat small meals during the day rather than 2 or three big ones. The problem with this is that if you snack say 5 times a day it can be more tempting to overeat but eating three regular meals and having the odd apple when you feel hungry is a good way to stay lean and healthy. Try to limit food intake before going to bed.
Get some exercise! Some people loathe the idea of going to the gym and so they often shy away from regular exercise. If you are one of these types why not arrange to go for a walk with buddies around the park or walk to work at a regular time so that you will be burning calories everyday.
Maybe the best bit of advice is don’t make a massive deal about dieting, just learn to take it in your stride and think about long-term goals. With a little bit of effort and determination things can really change.
