There is no question that the use of medications to help you lose weight can be extremely effective especially if you have a natural tendency to gain weight and you have previously been struggling with your obesity for many years. However if you do decide to lose weight by purchasing diet medication you need to be very careful about what you buy as there are so many products on the market that have only a little information and many of which have not been tested clinically for safety and effectiveness.

In the United States of America the weight loss industry is vast and there are hundreds of weight loss supplements available on the market that are advertised in glossy women’s magazines and they promise instant weight loss with a minimal amount of effort. The rules of the Food & Drug Administration which regulates the sale of medicines in the United States of America says that these diet supplements are allowed to be sold provided that they do not contain any illegal substances or that they are not found to be harmful to health. This means that a herbal tea which is pretty ineffective in helping lose weight can be sold and advertised as a weight loss supplement whereas medications that have been proven to work to aid people lose weight require a doctor’s prescription and cannot be advertised to the general public. This means that a lot of people are not getting the right weight loss products and are simply falling for the slick advertising that the weight loss supplement manufacturers continue to churn out.
Some of the weight loss supplements advertised in America simply contain things like caffeine or other stimulants that just speed up your heartbeat and make you burn off more calories when you are at a resting stage. However the weight loss that accompanies these supplements is extremely minimal and many people think that they can carry on eating normally and do no exercise and still lose weight. There is also the problem that people who are desperate to lose weight will often take too much of the weight loss supplement thinking that they will therefore lose more weight when in fact this can be extremely dangerous.
At Ukmedix News we promote the benefits of three weight loss medications, namely Reductil, Xenical and Acomplia which have all been extensively tested by the relevant medical authorities in the European Union. They all have certain side effects but since they are prescription drugs they are always accompanied by a doctor’s advice and recommendations on how they must be used.
If you buy some unregulated diet supplement not only do not know whether it will be effective but you could also be buying something that could be harmful for your health, could be addictive and could ultimately make you even put on more weight rather than lose it.
