Never underestimate the importance of exercise for weight loss. At Ukmedix News we like to think that exercise is 50 percent of the weight loss battle and the other 50 percent is down to your diet. Exercise is not simply a means of burning calories every day but actually forms other functions that can really help you lose the pounds. Exercise clears the mind and focuses the mind. If you are serious about losing weight, going to the gym say three or four times a week or making sure that you do a fifteen or twenty minute vigorous walk every day can motivate you and spur you on to reach your weight loss goals.

The other important thing to remember about exercise is that exercise builds muscle. If your muscles are strong you will work then more and a virtuous circle can be created. Whereas before you wouldn’t go up the stairs to get something but instead would take the lift with your newfound muscle strength you are likely to happily take the stairs and thus burn more calories every single day. Your weight loss and muscle strenghth will give you more energy and thus you will be always burning more calories on a regular day.
Another tip that we want to share with our readers is that eating on a regular basis at certain fixed times can really help to maintain weight loss. When you eat at a regular time the temptation to consume things off your diet and to eat too much are always there. Try to eat at regular intervals and plan your day so that you can get to eat healthy food. Don’t forget breakfast either as missing breakfast can slow your metabolism down in the morning and also make you so hungry by lunch time that you eat unhealthily. People who don’t eat breakfast often feel that they can eat a huge meal at lunch to compensate but this is not the case as the chances are that their lack of breakfast has slowed their metabolism and they will overcompensate at lunchtime.
Snacking is important as it is demoralising if you are always hungry and so you must be prepared with healthy snacks such as an apple or an orange and stay well away from chocolate bars, crisps and the like. If you are thirsty stick to water and stay away from fizzy drinks and even watch out for fruit juices that have added sugar as they may contain many calories.
