Weight Loss Resolutions After One Month

Written by Stuart Stevens | Wednesday, 31 January 2007

How are things getting on with your weight loss New Years Resolution? Did you lose any weight in January and are you eating healthily and exercising? The chances are that if you are still going strong and living a healthy lifestyle by the end of January then you have got over the biggest hurdle and you are probably well on your way to getting slim and trim and beating obesity for good.

If you have been eating right and exercising you are probably feeling much healthier now and have a bounce in your step. Don’t take this for granted as it is only because you have lost weight and that you exercise that you feel like this.

Be warned that now is also the time when many people feel that extra confidence regarding their weight coming on and thus they start to give the exercising a miss and eat more unhealthy food. Remember a serious weight loss plan has long-term goals and lifestyle change in mind which means that you must not think about going back to previous eating habits but must only look forward.

Reinforce your resolve to stay healthy by learning about the vast numbers of obesity related diseases and the much higher quality of life that healthy normal weight people have and remember how bad you looked when you were overweight. Take heart from the positive comments from friends and colleagues around you but remember that the only person that you lose weight for is yourself and so don’t let negative experiences control your eating patterns and gym routine.

Pat yourself on the back every now and punch the air and tell yourself as you look at your new trim shape in the mirror that you are fantastic not just because you look good but also because you have the will power to determine the way you want your life to go, what you eat and how you live.
