We have been coming across a lot of hype recently about the Raw Foods Diet but in the Ukmedix Newsroom we are very suspicious of this when it comes to diet and weight loss plans. We get especially suspicious when these diets are endorsed by celebrities as we feel that people forget the nutritional issues and are blinded by the fact that someone famous is using it and therefore they think that there has to be something good about it. Fad diet promoters love to get a celebrity endorsement as that is the easiest way of getting people to avoid the real issues.

Nevertheless in the Ukmedix Newsroom we keep an open mind and an objective view about all aspects of dieting and despite the fact that the Raw Food Diet is being endorsed by celebrities like Demi Moore and Robbie Williams we reckon that there is something good to be said about it.
As the name implies it’s pretty obvious how to follow the raw food diet and the range of food is pretty extensive as it can include fruits, vegetables, nuts and whole grains. Advocates of the diet have developed ways to prepare the food without cooking it and food is allowed to be warmed up but just not actually cooked so if you like hot food you need not worry.
The whole point of eating raw food is that it is known that by cooking you lose some of the natural and essential nutrients that are present in the foodstuffs so raw food eaters claim they are eating much more healthily. People who use the Raw Food Diet do not eat meat, sugar, any dairy products, alcohol or coffee and this makes them vegetarians too.
At the Ukmedix Newsroom we really liked aspects of this diet and noted that much of what it advocates is sensible. Processed food is responsible for much of the obesity problem that we have in the UK and that people do not eat fruit and veg enough is a major cause of heart disease and high cholesterol. But the reality is that the Raw Food Diet it is a very impractical diet and therefore it not really designed for a busy lifestyle. The other thing that you have to think of is that unless you become a master Raw Food Chef your diet is going to be pretty dull.
At Ukmedix News we reckon that what you should do is make an exceptional effort to include as much raw food into your diet as possible. Things like sushi and fruit are all exceptionally good for you. We recommend that you make an effort to eat at least one raw meal everyday and try to cut out all processed and modified food that you eat.
