The Swelling Diet Pill

It would make you think you had just eaten a big plate of spaghetti...

Italian scientists have come up with a new and completely a novel diet pill that works unlike any other previous medication. The diet pill that is still undergoing testing is swallowed with two large glasses of water and when it enters your stomach it will swell up into a blob of jelly that come to about the same size as a tennis ball.

The Swelling Diet Pill

The idea is that when you start to experience hunger pangs and your stomach starts to rumble instead of grabbing a snack laden with calories you will take this diet pill and it will expand in your stomach to prevent you feeling hungry.  Typically the Italian scientists said that it would make you think you had just eaten a big plate of spaghetti. They also said that this diet pill could be taken just before meals so that when you sat down to eat you would feel partially full already and therefore you would eat less.

This new diet pill that still does not have a name consists of a hydrogel cellulose compound which has a powder form when it is dry but expands massively when liquid is added to it. The scientists say that this diet pill could be an extremely effective alternative to gastric banding surgery that is becoming increasingly popular with severely obese people. Obviously gastric banding surgery comes with many risks that are inflated with unhealthy overweight people and thus this new diet pill could be a much safer alternative. The compound that it is made of is bio compatible so that it just passes through the body with no side effects.

Much more research is needed to develop this new weight loss medication and even if all the tests proven to be successful it will still not be available on the market for a number of years. The weight loss industry is worth billions of pounds all over the world and scientists are investing heavily in weight loss research.

Ukmedix News will keep a watch out for any new developments with this new slimming pill.
