When you set out to lose weight you should think of all the little ways that you can cut back on the calories that you consume daily and so that the overall effect is that you lose a lot of weight. Sometimes it better to do lots of little things rather than one big thing to lose weight. So rather than completely cutting a whole meal from your diet try to reduce your calories in different areas throughout the day.

For example, cut out normal milk and make sure that you only drink skimmed milk. If you have a number of cups of coffee a day using skimmed milk and sweetener over a week it could mean that you cut out a sizable amount of calories which will translate itself into a little bit of weight loss. Also cut out all sweets and chocolates and stock up with lots of different types of fruit to eat when you get hungry.
Cut out all fizzy drinks and fruit juices which often have large amounts of extra sugar in them which can up your calorie intake over the day. Go for drinking water and if you really want a sweet drink go for a diet drink. (Always check the calories.)
Use whole grain bread instead of normal white bread and try and limit the amount of fried food that you eat. When you are in a restaurant go for a smoothie as opposed to a milkshake because they are both as filling but one has far less calories than the other. Don’t bother with starters and go for the healthy option on the menu. All good restaurants have low fat meals these days. Avoid junk food! If you are a big fan of tuna, make sure that you always buy it packed in water or brine as opposed to olive oil. Tuna in water has 50 percent of the calories of tuna in olive oil.
Try to make all these little things normal habits for you so that over the long run you will maintain a healthy weight and you won’t have to go on a diet. Try to think of other small ways of cutting back on calories throughout the day. With a bit of practice your soon be eating far less calories without even noticing it.
