We have come across this sort of story before at Ukmedix News and this time it involves the superstar and beautiful actress Katherine Heigl who was recently asked to lose 10lb. in weight for a new movie role. The film which was called 'Knocked Up' involved her playing a fitness fanatic news reporter without an ounce of bodyfat on her.

Katherine said that the struggle to lose the weight was extremely difficult and that it involved her eating only small portions of vegetables and fish as well as working out for a minimum of an hour every day. She said she hated her diet and she hated the excessive exercise. Katherine spoke out about the obsession with being super thin in Hollywood and that the constant bombardment of pictures with ‘size zero’ models and actresses was not healthy for young girls who were extremely conscious about their weight.
At Ukmedix News we have decided to commend women who are not afraid to speak out against the super thin culture that the media promotes and thus we have decided that Katherine Heigl can join the list of other actresses that we like at Ukmedix News because they have a healthy attitude to their weight and their diet.
Other famous actresses that we have recently written about are Beyonce, Kate Winslet and Scarlett Johansson all of whom have come out publicly saying that they love their curves, that they are happy with their shape and that they feel no reason to conform to the unhealthy size zero media image.
America is fast becoming a nation of extremes when it comes to weight, with either super obese people or super thin people both of whom are putting their health in danger. At Ukmedix News we promote healthy eating and regular exercise to keep yourself in if shape and we are very wary of any extreme diets that make people look unhealthily thin.
