The famous big brother contestant Jade Goody has recently shed a whole lot of weight after a spell of serious weight gain following a failed pregnancy. She said that the depression of losing a child pushed her towards comfort eating. Ukmedix News has seen research which shows that people who are depressed and going through a bad time in their lives tend to eat more than people who are in full control of their lives and who are feeling secure. It is a vicious circle as the more weight you put on the more probable you are to feel depressed and thus you eat even more.

Jane Goody said that she hadn’t been for a workout or done any exercise for over a year and her diet consisted of takeaway curries and Chinese meals as well as fizzy drinks and high calorie snacks. She decided that a drastic move was needed and booked herself into a ‘Fat Camp’ where she would be locked up in a dormitory with a load of other women and forced into hard exercise and healthy food for a couple of weeks.
Fat Camps or Health Farms as they are sometimes known get people to lose weight in three different ways. Firstly they educate you about the correct way to eat and warm them about unhealthy food, secondly they give you very low fat and healthy food when you are there and lastly they make you exercise harder then you have ever exercised before.
At Ukmedix News we have seen that these health farms can be extremely good to help people who have developed bad eating and exercise habits to reform themselves completely. It is important that you take away the lessons that you have learned at these health farms and apply the lessons to your life if you want to sustain your weight loss.
Jade Goody says that she is still eating healthily even though she is back at home and promises that she will not revert back to her old eating habits. Now we will see if she can keep her word!
