Ukmedix News seen a research report on the weight loss market place in the United States which shows that analysts expect that by the end of this year it could be worth almost $60 billion rising to almost $70 billion by the year 2010. Among other things the report says is that supermarkets will be cashing in on the diet foods craze and will be organising special deliveries of diet food and diet drinks that replace regular meals.

The report also says that the market for untested and untried diet medication that has yet to be formally and properly tested by the Food & Drug Administration will also continue to rise despite the fact that there has been so much detrimental publicity about them following the death of Anna Nicole Smith, and the Federal Trade Commission fining the companies who make them for false and fraudulent advertising.
The American people are still waiting for the ultimate weight loss medication that will require absolutely no effort on their part and enable them to be as lazy as they like and to eat as much as they like. At Ukmedix News we reckon that they can just continue dreaming because there is nothing in the pipeline that even remotely resembles a drug like that. Even if a drug were to come on for sale that could do all of this, the chances are that the side effects would be worse than the side effects of obesity and getting the FDA to approve such a drug would be very difficult.
At Ukmedix News we continue to say that the best way to approach weight loss is to eat healthily and to get exercise and that there is no alternative for the two. Obesity drugs can help with people who have chronic weight problems but in the long term they must also understand that they must change their eating habits and get some physical exercise too.
