Include Foods And Don't Deprive Yourself

In the Ukmedix Newsroom we are coming across more studies and research projects that show that the very act of depriving yourself of certain types of foods when you diet is not good for your long-term weight loss and your mental attitude to diet. For example is you deprive yourself of certain foods that your body craves you will only increase the craving for that food and thus you will always be suffering from hunger pangs even when you have eaten other foods.

Obviously this does not mean that you can eat as much as you like of whatever food want but it does seem to suggest that if say you like chocolate, having a small chocolate bar everyday won’t really do you any harm and will improve your dieting well being and mental attitude that will give you a greater chance of winning in the long term.

You must be realistic with including certain foods into your diet and including fatty foods in big quantities will always result in weight gain but there is something to be said for making sure that your diet includes a few treats weekly and a mix of carbs, protein, fibre and fat. If your diet is viewed as a positive thing and not as something that reeks of deprivation and hardship you will be more likely to follow it. At Ukmedix we are great believers in simple diets as we have seen research that shows that complicated diets are less likely to work and that simple ones are more effective.

Always look at the long term goals when you diet and not for quick short term weight loss. Also ask your self what is necessary for a healthy diet and try to concentrate on getting those foods into your diet. Push up your fruit and vegetable intake as this will mean there is less room for other more unhealthy foods and as much as possible stay away from processed and junk food.
