What we have noticed that Ukmedix News is that so much research that is done these days just confirms what is just plain obvious, but this research is necessary as unless things are proven they are subject to contrary opinion and hearsay. A new bit of research that was sponsored by the Centre for Disease Control & Prevention in America has come out with some pretty obvious findings but nevertheless it is important and useful research.

The study noted that only 21 percent of U.S.people between the ages of 18 and 24 (university students) eat the right and recommended amount of vegetables each day, (three servings) and only 30 percent get the right amount of fruit daily too, (2 servings). Students are notorious for eating unhealthily and drinking too much and the researchers felt that the students exaggerated how much fruit and vegetables they ate.
The study also noted that less than 1/3 of all American adults consume the correct amount of fruit and vegetables every day. This makes interesting reading as statistics show that only 1/3 of Americans are of normal weight and the other 2/3 are either obese or overweight. The researchers said that it was important also to vary the types of vegetables that you eat as there were five different categories of them and that unless you ate all the different types you could be at risk from being deficient in certain nutrients that vegetables produce.
At Ukmedix News we are keen to encourage the consumption of fruits and vegetables and we have noticed that the best way to make certain that you regularly eat them is to prepare them well and to make them tasty and something to enjoy rather than something you are just eating for health reasons. If you buy low quality vegetables and cook them badly the chances of you eating healthily are much reduced.
