Being Obese Will Stop You Achieving

People will change their character when they get very overweight...

A report done at the University of Texas in America shows that overweight and obese girls who suffer from negative self perceptions of themselves when they are teenagers are 50 percent less likely to attend universities as other girls who do not have weight problems. If you need proof that your weight can have an effect on your quality of life and your self confidence this report definitely confirms it.  Interestingly however the report noted that boys who were overweight and obese did not have this same level of low confidence and university admission which shows that overweight girl teenagers suffer far more than overweight boy teenagers.

Being Obese Will Stop You Achieving

One of the professors involved in the research namely Robert Crosnoe is particularly interested in the impact that lower social position and status at school can have on whether you succeed in your educational pursuits. He has come to the conclusion that teenage girls suffer greatly from being overweight and that it definitely effects their educational development.

Professor Crosnoe looked at around 11,000 American teenagers and focused on the psychological impact of obesity as opposed to the physical impact of the condition. He noted that overweight schoolgirls were more likely to take illegal drugs, contemplate suicide, leave school early, drink alcohol to excess and to generally have behaviour problems.

From out research at Ukmedix News and from the hundreds of reports that we have seen we are extremely conscious of the psychological effects of obesity. People will change their character when they get very overweight as they start to feel very embarrassed about the way they look and they just start to lack confidence and retreat into a shell.

Being overweight and obese can mean that your career, relationships and all interactions with people are affected. At Ukmedix News when we try to convince people to lose weight we are not just thinking of the typical health benefits of losing weight but also of the psychological freedom that being thin, healthy and fit gives a person.
