Women watch out! Did you know that many women start to pile on the pounds when they get a boyfriend? According to research which was published by the Human Nutrition Research Centre located at Newcastle University women are inclined to eat food higher in fat and sugar and also to get less exercise after they move in with a boyfriend.

There are a variety of reasons for this one of which is that men simply eat more and they tend to eat foods high in fat and these bad eating habits are then passed on to the girlfriend. Women are also likely to eat more healthily and to eat more vegetables and fruit when compared to men. Women have to realise that men actually burn more calories on the whole throughout the day and therefore they can actually eat more than women. Women tend to burn about a quarter less calories every day than men so in a sense this means that they should eat ¼ less too.
Another thing is that women get comfortable when they feel secure in a relationship and that means that they get less conscious and concerned about their weight. This means that they become slack with their eating habits and don’t go to the gym as often. In fact many people say that it is much simpler to go to the gym when you are single than when you are with a partner as single people just have more time on their hands.
Other research that we have seen at Ukmedix News shows that if your partner is overweight or obese the chances of you becoming overweight or obese are much increased too. People tend to pick up bad eating habits from their partners and it is important that you are concious of this so that they do not creep up on you without you realising. If you move in with an unhealthy eater try to influence him with your good eating habits rather than let him influence you with his bad ones.
