Exercise Counts Too

Various studies have been done on the effect of exercise on weight loss and also whether exercise alone is sufficient to make person lose weight. We have seen different researchers coming up with different conclusions and putting a different emphasis on exercise for weight loss but one thing is for certain is that exercise helps and a lot of exercise helps a lot.

The great thing about exercise for a weight loss program is that it creates a virtuous circle and breaks the possible vicious circle that you may have got into. For example we encourage very obese people to walk more and get out of their house as much as possible. This often leads to a wish to go out again and walk more often and thus these obese people get more and more exercise as time goes on.

The very simple fact of getting these obese people moving also means that they are burning more calories so that less fat is retained in their bodies. Also the obese person will find that his metabolism is also increasing everyday if he does exercise so his stationary calorie-burning rate will be increasing also.

Many dieters and healthy people say that exercise is also great for focusing the mind and motivating you to lose weight. Often after the end of a stressful day we find it difficult to wind down and we are tempted to stuff ourselves full of food. A bit of exercise can clear the mind of stress and get us thinking logically and clearly.

Don’t think that by exercising alone you will get rid of excess fat and build muscle, as a healthy diet is very important too. In fact you will not receive the best out of a workout or exercise routine unless diet plays an important part in your life.

At Ukmedix we always keep things very simple so we say find some exercise that you enjoy, even walking the dog is great, but make sure you do it everyday and that you slowly increase the distances that you go until you get fit.
