At Ukmedix News we know how difficult it is for many people to lose weight and that they have battles that go on for many years which they never seem to resolve fully. What we have also seen is that overweight or obese people have a lot of different justifications for being the way that they are and are very sensitive about the subject. Obese people often say that they are content with the way they are and that they don’t want to change anything. They sometimes say that the reason they are obese is because they have very slow metabolisms, or that they have jobs in which it is impossible to get exercise or even that they are fat because it is just in their genes.

No Excuses Needed To Lose Weight

We reported on the genetic discovery that was made last week regarding the mutations of a particular gene which are found in obese people much more often than in normal weight people and knowing how some overweight people think, they may take heart from this discovery. This is because they may feel it “proves” that the reason that they are overweight is through no fault of their own but because they must have this gene.

Some weight loss commentators even said that the announcement of the discovery of this fat gene could even mean that some obese people would just not bother trying to lose weight anymore as they waited for some miracle genetic cure or because they realized that their genetic makeup was loaded against them. What is clear is that whether you have this obesity gene or not only increases the chances of you becoming obese and it is not a black and white situation where those who have it are obese and those who don’t are not.

What you must remember when it comes to shedding weight and living healthily is that sacrifices need to be made and that you can’t have it all and if you desire to look healthy and fit and live a lifestyle that enables you to go and do what you please, then you will have to take care of your diet and get some exercise.

Remember you are the ultimate decider of how much you weigh and what food you put in your mouth. We appreciate that it is difficult to shed weight and that for some people it is doubly hard but making excuses about why you are overweight and feeling sorry for yourself will not achieve anything and will only compound your unhealthiness, obesity and poor quality of life.
