More and more research that we see at Ukmedix seems to suggest that action of ‘dieting and the word ‘diet’ are becoming negative concepts if you really want to maintain a healthy weight and life. In a recent study project a group of researchers looked at some obese women and encouraged them to do some exercise as well as giving them some information about healthy preparation of food and cooking and also a bit of advice about responding to hunger pangs and feeling full.
Interestingly the researchers from the Universities of Hull and Leeds did not tell the women to diet but just to get some exercise and to eat healthily. The women were encouraged to get around 4 hours of exercise every week and the results showed the women were much healthier at the end of the research than at the beginning and they also reported feeling better about themselves,
Over sixty women took part in the research and their ages ranged from 24 to 55 years old and they were monitored throughout a one-year period. As well as losing weight and feeling good the results also saw a better respiratory fitness, blood pressure levels, cholesterol levels and heart rate levels.
We believe at Ukmedix that your attitude and approach to weight loss should be based on lifestyle changes and a positive mental outlook to health and that the word ‘diet’ and ‘dieting’ give out a negative image that suggests cutting out things when in fact losing weight and being healthy can give you so much.
Often the battle to lose weight is in the mind. Motivating yourself and a long-term view are the best ways to keep healthy and fit. Knowing that your weight is under your control can give people a good sense of well-being and happiness. Losing weight and getting healthy can change your life…give it a try…it’s worth it.
