Watch Out For The Booze At Christmas

Drinking a lot also can make you crave fatty food

Now that the Christmas season is soon upon us people should take care to eat carefully. Another thing that they should be aware of is that alcohol can lead to an increase in body weight. Alcohol is full of refined and processed sugar which will turn into fat in the body. This sugar is full of calories and is metabolised very quickly into fat.

Watch Out For The Booze At Christmas

On top of the normal amount of sugar present in alcohol you should also know that many Christmas drinks such as gluvine have a lot of extra sugar added to them. Think also about the situation that if you go out for five or six drinks and mix them with say Coke or Fanta you will be drinking a lot of extra sugar on top of the alcohol.

At Ukmedix News we would warn you to be careful about your alcohol consumption over Christmas and try to avoid drinks with extra sugar in them. What you can do is make certain that if you have say a Vodka and Coke ask for Diet Coke as opposed to the regular type.

Drinking a lot also can make you crave fatty food. Scientists say this is because your body is reacting to the alcohol and needs to be compensated with extra food.  Be careful when you walk into that kebab shop at 2:00am in the morning that you do not over indulge yourself.  Triy to go for grilled shish kebab meat as opposed to the more fatty doner meat and if you can control yourself stay away from the chips. There is no reason that you must eat unhealthily just because you have had a few drinks so make sure you have some salad and wash it all down with lots of water.

You’ll probably feel pretty groggy the next morning and the best cure for that is the thing that you feel least like doing….. exercise!
