There are literally thousands of diets out there and it can be very bewildering to choose one. At Ukmedix News we don’t necessarily think that one diet is better than the other but we are of the opinion that the most important thing is that you find a diet or weight loss plan that you feel comfortable with and which makes you feel good. At the same time we would like to warn our readers that there are some diets which are not good for you and which could be dangerous for your health over the long term. We abide by weight loss principles which you should follow when choosing an eating plan.

For example any diet which involves extreme calorie reduction will not be good for you and while you may lose weight with a diet like this you are likely to end up putting it all back on again. An extreme calorie reduction diet can actually make your body store fat reserves in order to protect itself and so the weight will not fall off as quickly as you think. When your body does this it is sometimes called Starvation Adaptation Mode and can make you feel depressed which has shown to make people eat emotionally and go on eating binges.
Any diet that you choose should have all of the following nutrients; carbohydrates, protein and fat. Different diets restrict different nutrients but they should not completely cut them out as this will result in an unbalance which ultimately is not good for your long term health. Stay away from any diet that promises more than 3 or 4lb. of weight loss a week. Anything more than this is unsustainable and unhealthy. Weight loss should be considered as a long term project and not a quick fix. There are no shortcuts for healthy weight loss.
When deciding what foods to eat try to focus on the things that you enjoy eating so that your meals will be a pleasure as opposed to a chore. Research has shown that people who eat things that they enjoy are more likely to stick to their diet plans than those who are suddenly eating things that they are unused you and don’t really like. If you don’t like celery don’t eat it!
Keep it real and be sensible when it comes to weight loss.
