Common sense counts for a lot when you are attempting to lose weight

Many individuals are toying with the idea that dieting is not the way forward to lose weight. Despite the huge industry being built up based on diet books, diet plans and restrictive eating plans, more and more doctors and nutritionists are saying that the simple act of cutting down on certain foods can in essence in the long term make you eat more.

Don

The argument is that if you deny yourself a certain food such as pizza or pasta which you love to eat you will merely create a greater desire to eat that item every day that passes. The proponents of a non restrictive diet argue that you can eat anything you like as long as it is eaten in moderation and not in excess.

The pattern of many people’s lives is that they put on a bit of weight and then panic and so they immediately change their diet unrealistically by for example only eating steamed vegetables and working out excessively. This weight loss drive goes on for a couple of weeks and then is completely forgotten about thus creating a yoyo pattern of weight loss and weight gain which in itself is very unhealthy.

If you are extremely overweight you may need to take drastic measures to get yourself down to a healthy weight but you should be able to maintain this healthy weight by eating whatever you like in moderation and at the same time making sure that you have a varied and balanced diet which includes fruit, vegetables, carbohydrates protein and fat.

Common sense counts for a lot when you are attempting to lose weight. Don’t buy a Mars Bar when you feel like a quick snack but just buy an apple, don’t have a starter when you go to a restaurant and walk up the stairs and don’t always take the lift. It is sometimes the simple little things you do in life which made the biggest differences!
