All Big Brother contestants are keen to make money from promoting themselves or products and in what was seen to be a simple matter of principle Jade Goody has turned down a 1.5million pound contract to endorse a diet pill. The reason it seems is that previously she had used slimming pills irresponsibly and ended up becoming addicted to them and suffering from bulimia also.
The company that made the offer is an internet company that sells online slimming pills and the former Big Brother contestant felt that following her own terrible experiences with slimming pills it would be unethical and hypocritical to promote them. Jade also talks about her problem with slimming pills in her autobiography and her battle to overcome the addiction to them.
When on Big Brother, Jade was called 'Miss Piggy' after took her clothes off, however she fought with her weight after the contest and lost a lot of weight and finished up making over 100,000 pounds from a fitness video. The diet pills that she claims that she got addicted to probably contained amphetamines which are highly dangerous and frowned upon by many diet experts and weight loss professionals.
Jade is currently promoting her autobiography and cynics were quick to note that maybe this whole thing of refusing the money could just be clever publicity for her new book and also for the website.
Ukmedix sells two slimming medications that require a doctors prescription before use and have been fully approved by the both the FDA in America and also the EMEA in European Union. They are called Reductil and Xenical. The first is an appetite surpressant and the second one is a fat blocker that stops the fat being absorbed in to the body.
