A new survey done in the UK shows that 60 percent of women think that being size zero would make them look attractive and almost all of them [97 percent] think that a size twelve would make them look fat. The perception of what is fat and what is a normal weight varies greatly from woman to woman and some women consider themselves to be overweight when they are at a perfectly normal and healthy weight. Media images are said to be responsible for some women thinking that they are overweight and dieting excessively.

The facts that came about from this survey were that almost all women like the idea of having friends who were chubbier than them and three quarters of women said that they were jealous of their skinny friends. Sixty percent of women said that friends of theirs had commented negatively on their body shapes and 40 percent said that their mothers had advised them to shed some pounds.
Other worrying statistics are that almost 50 percent of women in the UK have taken slimming pills and twenty percent admitted to having used laxatives to lose weight. Thirteen percent of women even confessed to having taken cocaine to increase the speed of that metabolisms and because it is known to suppress appetite as well. Fifty percent of women also said that they had in the past not eaten all day so that they would be able to fit into a certain dress in the evening.
Ukmedix News is getting increasingly concerned by the poor eating habits of women in the United Kingdom and that is why we are keen to encourage healthy eating as a means of weight loss as opposed to ridiculous fad diets, they use of laxatives, and any other unhealthy and short term solution to weight loss. For this survey over 5,000 women were asked to fill in detailed questionnaires about their eating habits and lifestyles.
