Apples are good for you due to the big amount of flavonoids in them...

At Ukmedix News we think that the majority of people really underestimate the effect that diet can have on their health. Over the long term if you eat your fruits and vegetables on a regular basis the chances are that you will live longer and that you will have better health in old age. Hundreds of research projects all around the world show this and prove this and people who eat healthily tend to be of a normal weight too as well as having less heart disease, high blood pressure and diabetes.

Apples And Fish

This week we decided at Ukmedix News to promote the benefits of eating apples and fish. Both of these foods are low in fat and while fish does have a little bit of fat it is of the healthiest variety containing Omega-3 fatty acids. One research project that we came across which was done at the University of Aberdeen in Scotland showed that women who ate fish and apples on a regular basis when pregnant were far more likely to have children who never developed asthma or other allergies when they grew up. The results also clearly showed that those women who ate the most fish and apples when pregnant were the ones who had the least amount of children with allergic illness before the age of five.

It is thought that the reason apples are good for you is partly due to the big amount of flavonoids in them. Flavonoids are natural antioxidants which are only found in fruits and veg. With regard to the benefits of eating fish, as well as being a rich source of protein most people point to the Omega-3 fatty acids that research has linked to protecting against heart disease and asthma.

Make a special effort to have an apple a day and try to eat fish at least three times a week it could really work wonders for your health.
