One thing that Ukmedix advises is that when you start to diet don't be too drastic! If you actually suddenly cut the amount of calories that you eat espacially if they are what nutritionists call 'protein calories' you will suddenly slow your natural digestive metabolism as your body will react by trying to retain the calories as opposed to burn them off. If there are no calories to burn you body starts to burn muscles instead of fat and this can make you feel weak and unhealthy. The more muscle you have the more calories you will burn and thus the less weight you will put on. If you are doing regular exercise it is important to eat well and especially important is to eat protein that helps your muscles to grow and to keep working well.

You need to strike a balance between reducing portion sizes and lowering calorie intake and also eating helathy nutritious food. When you are dieting make sure that you eat 1,600 calories daily so that your body doesn't slow down its metabolism and keep the protein levels high when dieting so that you won't be deprived of the essential protein and other nutrients. If you suddenly start to exercise and do strenous muscle enhancing exercise then you may need to boost your protein intake even more. Chicken and tuna are 2 foodstuffs that contain a lot of protein.

Another simple weight loss trick (we love simplicity at ukmedix) is to eat slowly. If you are dieting you may feel hungry especially for the first few days so when you get your food you tend to devour it immediately. This is not going to help you as you body takes time to react to feeling full and so ukmedix advises that you eat as slowly as possible. Not only will you enjoy your food more but you will begin to feel full before your meal ends and therefore you are more likely to eat less. Drink some liquids during the meal, eat with company and talk about everything except food and savour each and every bite like it was your last meal.

Strike a realistic balance between exercise and food intake and keep in mind that if what you are eating is healthy you will be able to eat more and feel better when you exercise. Remember to 'Keep It Simple' and you are much more likely to succeed!
