Spinach Takes The Headlines

Spinach has always been known to be good for you. All little children are told that they will become strong if they eat spinach. Possibly the greatest boost spinach got to its sales was when it was used in the famous Popeye cartoons. In these cartoons Popeye would eat a tin of spinach and immediately his muscles would bulge and he would go and rescue Olive Oil. This popular cartoon was probably the only reason why millions of children ate their greens and the health of countless nations owes a small something to Popeye.

Recently however Spinach is back in the news, with the famous Latin singer Jennifer Lopez saying that she is eating it by the bagfull in order to help her get pregnant. The curvy singer is trying to have children with her latest husband Marc Anthony, also a singer, and has been telling all who care to listen that spinach is the way forward for pregnancy. She is eating it three times daily and this is said to be good for increasing the amount of folic acid in the body which is a natural aid to conception. Ukmedix has learnt that she is following strict dietary guidelines from her doctor and that spinach is the main ingredient of all her meals.

Spinach is often used as a key ingredient of weight loss diets. It is healthy, low in fat and calories and filling too. It can be served in a number of different way to increase variety and if fresh can be delicious. Spinach is also very easy and quick to cook, just requiring a few minutes of boiling.

Even if Jennifer Lopez doesn't concieve by eating all that spinach, she'll be healthier, and if you believe the Popeye cartoon....much stronger too.
