Ukmedix know that people who have faced the fact that they are overweight and stopped being in denial and kidding themselves that their weight isn't really a problem are far more likely to lose weight and to keep off the pounds permanently. Making a clear and definite decision to lose weight is very important for the weight loss process and many doctors who treat patients say that the weight loss battle is all in the mind.
Ukmedix spoke to one of its patients who recently lost over 100 pounds using a combination of diet, exercise and Xenical and noted her experiences. She was always overweight and up until the age of 30 had always been unable to wear a bikini and was always in denial about her weight problem. It was only when she hit her thirtieth birthday that she decided to take control of her life and herself and made that first all important step of seeing a doctor and actually taking his advice.
Using a three pronged approach of diet, exercise and a little help from Xenical the results were immediately evident on the bathroom scales but less so from looking at her. The hard bit is the period after say three weeks when the novelty of the diet has worn off and the exercise starts to get boring. This point is crucial because if you have had some results you often think that you are entitled to let up a bit and be less stringent with the diet and the exercise but people who have real weight loss success are those who can keep up the momentum in the long term and not waver and falter.
At this point Ukmedix advise people to sit down and evaluate what the weight loss is all about. Remember the times you felt humiliated and self concious on the beach. Remember the times when you got to the top of the stairs sweating and out of breath. Remember the times that you didn't do things and the restrictions that being obese placed on your life. Then motivate yourself by thinking of what you will be able to achieve when you lose weight and how you'll feel when you are looking good on the beach and when you can run up the stairs in a flash.
Overweight people admit that they even missed family and social events and shunned friends because they couldn't face the embarassment of looking obese and awkward. Working out what losing weight is about and what you are doing it for is often a journey of discovery for overweight people and one that can give you greater self awareness of what you are capable of, and what areas of your life you have been in denial about.
Now the Ukmedix patient is happily wearing a bikini on the beach, is feeling better generally and she says that the biggest thrill is that she feels that she has taken full control of her life and isn't being ruled by her weight.
