Ukmedix is monitoring reports of a new invention that literally will burn of excess fat for overweight and obese people. The invention consists of a laser that heats up body fat until it melts and then is passed out of the body's digestive system.  The electron laser technology was developed by scientists from the Massachusetts General Hospital and can melt the fat away and leave the surface layers untouched.

So far the treatment has been tested using unwanted human fat that was removed following surgery and has yet to be involvd in serious clinical testing involving live animals or humans and so much more research is needed before the treatment can be considered suitable for commercial use.

This laser therapy may also be used in the future for the treatment of other health problems like excess fat in arteries, cellulite removal and even simple acne as the cause of the skin disease is a fat gland just under the skin's surface.

The scientists are continuing with experiments designed to look at different uses of the laser. The weight loss industry in the United States is very big as the obesity problem is so severe there and millions of dollars go into research each year.

Ukmedix will continue to monitor the efficacy and usefulness of this treatment for weight loss purposes.
