Yawn, yawn…. Eating fruits and vegetables is good for you! We all know this, every single health authority around the world says this all the time and yet the majority of people in the United Kingdom ignore this advice. The lack of fruit and vegetables in the diet of the average British person is probably the single biggest reason for the increased levels of obesity that the United Kingdom is struggling with.

Some new research done in America shows that eating your fruits and vegetables could in fact even work as an appetite suppressant. The study which was partly funded by the Campbell Soup Company was presented at an Experimental Biology convention and showed that when dieters were made to drink vegetable juice which was low in sodium and high in potassium every single day over a three month time period they lost more weight than those people who were not given the vegetable juice and who were told to follow the same diet.
The volunteers for the study were randomly assigned to either drink one, two or no cups of vegetable juice daily and a clear correlation between the amount of juice drunk and weight lost was recorded. Vegetable juice can be an extremely effective diet tool because not only is it easy to drink at any time but it also helps you to easily get the recommended amount of vitamins and nutrition that comes from eating fruit and veg every day without having to go down to the market. If you are busy working person vegetable juice could be just right for you. It is perfect as a midmorning or a mid afternoon snack because it is very filling, low in calories and extremely good for you.
In the American study all of the participants who were suffering from high cholesterol, elevated blood sugar and hypertension recorded better health after regularly drinking the vegetable juice. There’s no harm in giving vegetable juice a try it could make a big difference your weight.

it is very true, vegetables eaten or drunk before a meal, will fill a 'large' space in our stomachs. It is also very advisable to eat a large salad before going out to a restaurant, this will make sure you eat less and lose more weight.
