So wake up everybody and use your common sense

Ukmedix News is still being inundated with reports of men and women falling for internet acai berry slimming pill scams. The scams which have been capitalising on an endorsement on the famous Oprah Winfrey show tend to leave people with depleted credit cards.

Ukmedix News Still Receiving Acai Berry Scam Reports

The scams usually involve a free trial where your credit card details are only taken to pay for the packaging and posting. What happens later is that you are then billed for subsequent deliveries of the acai berry slimming pills which you have no recollection of signing up for, but which you have actually signed for because you didn’t read the minuscule small print.

What you’ll probably find is that getting through to the call centre, (if they have one) to cancel your order is impossible and the only action to take is to cancel the card and write-off your losses. Trading Standards officials in the UK are looking into the various scams, however in the majority of cases there will be nothing that they can do.

While there is nothing wrong with the acai berry there is absolutely no reason why you should be eating it in a pill form. The benefits of the acai berry can be had by consuming practically every other type of fruit and it does not have any slimming effects whatsoever. The reason why this acai berry is so popular in Brazil is that it is a healthy fruit and all types of healthy fruit consumption can fill you up and stop you eating other unhealthy fattening food.

So wake up everybody and use your common sense. If you want to lose weight remember that all fruit is an essential part of a healthy diet and you should up your fruit and veg consumption as much as possible. You don’t need the acai berry to lose weight and if you rely on it to do the work for you, you will definitely be disappointed.

I have just been caught out by this scam, they have taken over 160 euros from our bank account because I hadn't seen the tiny print. I had to ring the bank to find out what the money was for and apparently there was someone else who had asked exactly the same question, of the same branch, today! I've been told to send them back with a note saying I don't want them and want my money back - I shan't hold my breath!

I have just phoned the company who sent my pills, they have given me a cancellation number and promised they will refund my money if I send the goods back - they were very helpful, but we'll see!

Oprah Winfrey should be made resposible for all the trouble people have had. When she promotes something we tend to believe it because she is meant to have a believable character....NO MORE..SIR...SHE HAS JUST HELPED PEOPLE LOSE THEIR HARD EARNED MONEY!!!....I know I am one of them.

Ask Oprah to explain herself on this website please. She should not get away with it.
