Everybody likes to let their hair down a little bit at the weekend, and this often involves a little bit too much eating and drinking. Everyone knows that the eating will make you put on weight but they underestimate how fattening drinking alcohol is too.

In fact, alcohol is not just a problem for your weight because of its direct fat boosting properties but it also is very likely to prevent you from going to the gym or getting a workout the next day. You know the feeling when you wake up with a hangover and the last thing that you feel like doing is going to get exercise. Alcohol plays with the mind and can cause depression in the form of the Beer Blues which makes you just want to curl up in front of TV and gorge on comfort food.
Well, that is exactly what you should not be doing! What you should be doing is formulating a specific Hangover Workout to break the cycle and to get the negative effects of alcohol out of your system. The best cure for a hangover is definitely getting exercise and sitting in front of TV is only going to prolong the agony and make you eat more unhealthy food.
If you are very hungover, you should maybe stay away from the very heavy weights and instead just do a light workout which gets you worked up into a sweat. Having a specific Hangover Workout is a good idea because it will differentiate itself from your regular work out which is probably tougher and therefore less appealing.
Maybe your Hangover Workout should involve sitting in the sauna and even going for a swim. If you do use the sauna be warned that you need to drink a lot of water to compensate, because both alcohol and sauna cause dehydration.
A Hangover Workout undertaken on a Sunday night will definitely improve your Monday morning and even though you probably will not feel like doing it you definitely will not regret it when you get to work the next day.
