there is no time like the present when it comes to getting healthy

A recently published study done by the International Agency for Research on Cancer has concluded that UK women are at a 17% greater risk of getting cancer when compared other women in the rest of Europe. The study shows that by the age of 75 the average UK woman has a 25% chance of getting cancer and that the probability of them dying from it is 13% greater than other European women.

Surprisingly, not that many people know that the biggest cause of cancer after smoking is obesity and the large number of women suffering from cancer in the UK is therefore partly a result of unhealthy diets that many people in the UK follow.

According to the World Cancer Research Fund as many as 80,000 cancer cases could be prevented annually if people were prepared to make more an effort to watch their diet, exercise, drink less and to quit smoking.

It is especially important that people who come from families who have previously had cancer sufferers make that extra special effort to live healthy. If you have a close relative who has or had cancer being overweight is just asking for trouble.

You should also remember that there is no time like the present when it comes to getting healthy and it is no good pledging to eat healthily when the doctor gives you your cancer diagnosis.

Simple common sense things like eating lots of fresh fruit and vegetables, getting lots of fibre and reducing your fat intake could make all the difference between you living a long and healthy life or dying a slow painful death from cancer.

So many people who get cancer claim that they had no idea that their weight problem could have been the cause of it and it seems such a tragedy that so many lives are put at risk as a result of something which could be easily remedied with simple lifestyle changes.

Losing weight sets you free from disease, discrimination, immobility and so many other negative things. If you want to lose weight you can have an online consultation with a UK doctor on the Ukmedix web site.
