Feeling hungry yet?

If you ever need evidence that exercise can have a massive impact on weight loss you only need to read about the incredible diet of the Olympic gold medal winning Michael Phelps.

The Phelps Diet Allows 1 Kilo Of Pasta Daily With Large Pizza To Follow

Anybody who has been watching the Olympics will see that he is in good shape and therefore will assume that he eats a perfectly healthy diet, however in fact his diet is ridiculously unhealthy to the average person. Instead of eating around 2,000 calories a day which is the normal required for a man he can eat an incredible 12,000 calories a day and not put on an ounce of fat. In order to maintain this calorie fueled diet Michael has to avoid any type of low calorie food and in fact gorges himself everyday on a diet which many men and women would kill for.

Imagine being able to eat three fried egg sandwiches with all the trimmings of cheese, fried onions and mayonnaise as well as the five egg omelette for breakfast. Hold on I haven’t stopped yet… followed by three chocolate-chip pancakes, (yes 3), a bowl of porridge and three pieces of sugar coated toast. Coffee is optional. Hey and that’s just breakfast!

Feeling hungry yet? Moving swiftly on to lunch, the calorie burning machine consumes half a kilo of pasta. If you are a person who doesn’t understand exactly how much half a kilo is, it is in fact a whole regular packet which is designed to feed four to five people. Jamie from the Ukmedix Newsroom has been known to eat 250 grams of pasta at one sitting and believed that this made him some sort of extraordinary man. He has been walking around the newsroom shaking his head since hearing the news that Michael Phelps can eat double the amount pasta for lunch and follow it up with a couple of ham and cheese sandwiches with generous amounts of mayonnaise.

Jamie was further disturbed by the news that by supper time Michael was ready for another half kilo portion of pasta (this time Spaghetti Carbonara made with milk, eggs and cheese), which was followed by a large pizza.

If you are the type of person who enjoys their food and finds dieting tedious your only real option is to up your exercise level. Not only must you think about getting regular exercise but you must concentrate on boosting your muscle mass. One of the reasons why Michael Phelps is able to burn so many calories in the day is not only because he does so much exercise but also because he has such a huge amount of toned muscles on his body which are constantly burning calories even when he is sitting watching television.

Michael’s diet will not be sustainable forever according to nutritionists and he will have to tone down his eating habits when he retires, but there is no doubt that one of the perks of being a professional athlete is being able to eat an orgy of fat and carbs everyday without negative consequences.
