You know summer is coming when fad diets start to appear all over the news! The latest bit of idiotic dieting advice comes from Dr. Michael Moreno in California who has invented The 17-Day Diet.

The logic in The 17-Day Diet is that it restricts carbohydrates and then reintroduces them it causes something which we have never ever heard of before at Ukmedix News called calorie confusion. Apparently calorie confusion makes the body burn calories faster than when it is not confused.
What are load of *******! Is he trying to claim that the digestive system has to somehow concentrate and that if you confuse it will burn calories at a different rate. If your diet plan centres around trying to confuse calories you are just wasting your time and being fed a whole lot of rubbish which is not backed up by any respected clinical trial.
We have warned about fad diets before at Ukmedix News and we will continue to show exactly how stupid most of them are. Following a diet which promises instant weight loss in just a matter of days might give you some benefits in the short term but over the long term you will be doing more damage than good.
If you are serious about weightloss and keeping in shape you must think of it as an overall lifelong project rather than a quick fix to an ongoing problem. Fad diets can mess up your metabolism, leave you dehydrated and lacking in nutrients and generally make you unhealthy.
To lose weight cut your portion sizes, try and include loads of fruit and vegetables in your diet, be honest about your food consumption and get a bit of exercise when you can. It is that simple!
