The eight stone woman was said to have been furious

Southwest Airlines has got itself in hot water again regarding obese passengers after it ordered a passenger to leave a plane that was full up. However this time there is a twist in the tale because the person who was taken off the plane was not the obese one, but a slim eight stone woman!

southwest airlines kicks eight stone woman off plane in obesity incident

What happened was that Southwest Airlines realized that there was an obese 14 year old girl who was travelling without her parents on the flight. Rather than throw this girl off the flight to Sacramento and leave her stranded in Las Vegas they felt that it was more sensible to kick somebody else off.

The eight stone woman was said to have been furious about the decision of Southwest Airlines and contacted the Sacramento Bee newspaper about what happened to her. She said that it was unfair that she had to leave the flight especially as she had paid the full price for a seat and that somebody else was now using it.

On the other hand a spokesman for Southwest Airlines explained that if the girl had been an adult they would have made her buy an extra ticket but they felt in the circumstances they did not want to leave this fourteen year old girl stranded, which on the balance of things was probably the right decision to make. In fact Southwest Airlines would normally ask somebody to give up their seat but they knew that this would cause more embarrassment to the girl and so instead they opted to pick somebody at random.

However one wonders where her parents were and the psychological damage that this fourteen year old girl is going to suffer from as a result of her weight and the embarrassing situation that she was placed in. Whatever the case, at Ukmedix News we hope that this incident makes this poor girl get medical help to lose weight sooner rather than later so that the damage both physical and psychological will be minimal.

The last incident which made the press concerning obese passengers and Southwest Airlines was when the film maker Kevin Smith was booted off the plane.

Well done Southwest Airlines, a young girl would never understand and would be wounded for life. I am sorry for the eight stone woman but I am sure she got on the next plane!
