Six Months In Prison For UK Man Who Sold Weight Loss Pills

Anyone who thinks that selling unlicensed slimming pills on the internet is a harmless activity should know that the the Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) have just successfully prosecuted a man who will now be spending the next six months in prison.

Mr. David Green from Rotherham in South Yorkshire was found guilty of the supply of weight loss medication containing the powerful, dangerous and unlicensed compound ephedrine. Mr. Danny Lee-Frost speaking on behalf of the MHRA explained that the products in question had absolutely no quality control and Mr. Green even continue to sell them even after he was told of the dangers of ephedrine. Mr. Lee-Frost said that this was another example of the dangers of buying unregulated weight loss medication.
Mr. Green pleaded guilty at Sheffield Crown Court to the charges of advertising and selling weight loss medication without a licence and evidence was brought forward by the MHRA who had secretly been investigating him and eventually launched an operation to seize several hundred bottles of the weight loss capsules.
Mr. Lee-Frost explained that individuals who used unregulated weight loss medication simply had no idea about what they were using, the dosage of the active chemicals, the location or conditions that they were made in and lastly the possible implications to their health.
All we can say that Ukmedix News is that medicines are regulated for a reason and that reason is that there are cowboys and criminals out there who don’t care about your health and who are more interested in your money than whether you lose weight or not. Think about this before you hand over your credit card details to an illegal organization that probably will use your money to fund even more illicit activities.
Don’t say you were warned!!
