When the singer Katy Perry got married to the comedian Russell Brand she made a pledge that she would stop eating meat and become a vegetarian like him. Russell who has been a vegetarian for over twenty years will be very disappointed if the rumours about Katy having secret hamburgers are true!

Unconfirmed news reports say that Katy Perry has been sneaking off every now and again and having a meat fix. Why is it that what celebrities eat is considered very important? Celebrities do not have better diet advice than you or me so why should we be listening to what they say or following their diet habits?
People who go vegetarian often say that they feel better without meat and that it helps them to keep control of their weight. For example recently Megan Fox has been on a vegetarian diet but decided to start eating meat again because she was getting too skinny.
Of course there is the ethical aspect of not eating meat which needs to be taken into account, but from a dietary point of view there is no reason why you cannot be healthy if you include meat into your diet in moderation.
If you do not have meat in your diet you should make an effort to make sure that you consume enough protein. There is a lot of protein in dairy products but again some people avoid these for ethical reasons and so they need to get their protein from natural sources such as beans and certain vegetables.
At Ukmedix News our advice is to stay well away from any celebrity diet or nutritional advice and only stick to tips from people such as doctors and qualified nutritionists. Celebrity diets tend to be extreme, impractical and full of sound bites which make no sense is in the real world.
Use your common sense; it is the best way to lose weight.
