Pray For Weight Loss

the prayers fortify them in their resolve to stay eating healthily

Prayer organisations in America are sprouting up all over the place specifically to help people to lose weight. For example one of them named First Place 4 Health meets up every week to talk about the Bible, the power of praying and how it can help you to resist snacking on unhealthy food.

Pray For Weight Loss

Many of these Christian prayer groups go as far as to organise all of their members to be weighed, [like Weight Watchers] before the prayers begins which adds a little bit of peer pressure to the weekly gatherings. People taking part say that the prayers fortify them in their resolve to stay eating healthily and they learn passages of the Bible which give them strength and courage when they are feeling weak.

So many people have weight problems because of serious emotional and psychological problems which they cannot deal with. Weight problems are often seen as an external sign of an internal problem. With God’s help they are able to deal with their problems and they take comfort from prayer rather than from binge eating.

As far as we know at Ukmedix News there have been no clinical evidence based studies which show that prayer is an effective tool for weight loss but we do know that it does work for certain individuals. If you are overweight and have struggled with different weight loss attempts to you may find that joining a Christian based prayer group could give you the extra boost which you need.

Have a look at the following for an example of a weight loss prayer.

Dear Lord, Help me to overcome the challenges that come my way today. Help me to understand the importance of good health so that I may be able to live my life to the full and do your will. Keep me conscious of what makes me eat too much. Fill me with the desire to look after my body. Make me realise that eating less does not deprive me but in fact enriches me in every way.

Amen.
