Overweight People Much More Likely To Get Liver Cirrhosis

you do not want to suffer from liver disease.

Researchers in Sweden have shown how being overweight greatly increases the risk of the developing cirrhosis of the liver.  The study which was done by the Sahlgrenska Academy looked at the medical records of over 850 men over a 40 year period and noted that the average BMI of men who developed cirrhosis of the liver was 28 whereas the average BMI of man who did not develop the condition was less than 25.

Professor Jerzy Kaczynsk who led the study explained that with the growing number of overweight individuals in Sweden the number the men who will develop cirrhosis of the liver would only increase. The research which was published by the Scandinavian Journal of Gastroenterology is yet again another reason why you should not be complacent about being overweight.

You might think that you do not mind being overweight and you can cope with all of the social ramifications of the problem but believe us when we tell you that you do not want to suffer from liver disease.

The list of unpleasant symptoms which liver disease sufferers experience is extensive and be warned that it also includes sexual problems, infertility as well as jaundice and bad breath. A damaged liver cannot be repaired and severe cases require a liver transplant.

Overweight people like to think that it is only alcoholics who suffer from liver cirrhosis but they could not be more wrong and you should also be aware that if you drink a lot of alcohol when you are overweight you are putting a double strain on your liver.

Many people love to say that the reason they are overweight is because they like to "live a life to the full"  but that statement is completely misguided because if you end up suffering from any of the hundreds of obesity related illnesses such as cancer, heart attacks or liver cirrhosis you definitely will not be able to live the life you want to live and your freedom will be greatly restricted.

Living and eating healthily is liberating. Dont hesitate and read up about nutrition and learn how to lose weight...right now!
