At Ukmedix News we have written loads about the dangers to your health from obesity and we are not going to go on about them here. What we are going to talk about is the more practical and obvious problems that comes with carrying around a huge amount of extra weight.

If you are twenty kilos overweight you are always going to be out of breath and tired in the same way that a normal weight person would be if they had to walk around with a backpack containing twenty kilos. If you are overweight get something which weighs twenty kilos and lift it up and see how much of a burden you are having to deal with by everyday having a weight problem.
A recent research project done by scientists at the University of New Hampshire has shown that obese women are at a much higher risk of ending up becoming disabled and losing their independence as a result of their weight problems.
The researchers Professor Dain LaRoche, Rachel Kralian and Erica Millet calibrated the effect that excess weight had on the walking speed, leg strength and leg power of individual women. They said that the results showed a minimal difference in the actual strength of the legs of the different groups of women but when the ratio of strength-to-weight was calculated it was noted that the overweight women had around ? less strength and almost 40 percent less power than the normal weight women. This resulted in an average of around twenty percent slower walking speeds for the overweight women.
The researchers who had their work published in the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology explained that losing weight would allow you to get on with normal daily activities and basically give you some of your youth back.
Being overweight makes you act and live as if you are much older. If you are an overweight 60 year old you may have the mobility of an 80 year old which can't be much fun. If you are overweight at the age of 80 you are probably completely dependent on other people.
You might get away with being overweight or obese in your younger years but it will definitely catch up with you eventually.
